Most players treat the TV as an afterthought.
There is no shortage of playlist players. There is a shortage of ones that behave properly on a television: navigable entirely with a D-pad, readable from across the room, quick to switch between playlists, and able to keep watching when the connection drops.
There is also a privacy problem. Playlist credentials are effectively account passwords, and plenty of apps store them carelessly or sync them to a cloud backup without asking.

Written in Kotlin with Jetpack Compose and Material 3, on an MVVM architecture with dependency injection and a local database — so state survives rotation, backgrounding and a flaky network.
